About the firm
A short history
Greenwell & Partners was started in 1994 by an ex-Big Four senior who got tired of the volume model. The practice has stayed small, deliberately, for thirty-one years.
We work in cohorts of about ten new clients per year. We turn down work that doesn't fit. The trade is depth of relationship for breadth of book.
The current principal qualifies through ISCA and is a registered tax agent with IRAS.

The principal

Founding partner
FCPA (Singapore). Registered tax agent with IRAS. Eleven years at one of the Big Four before going independent in 1994.
The decision to stay small wasn't accidental. After watching colleagues build practices to seven-figure billing on the back of volume retainers and junior leverage, the founder decided to do the opposite: charge fairly, keep the book small, answer every client's call personally.
Thirty-one years later, the practice has grown by referral only. We have never advertised. Eighty percent of new clients come from existing ones.
Outside the firm: chair of the audit committee at a charitable foundation in Marine Parade, member of ISCA's technical committee on business reporting, hawker-stall photographer (a long-running side passion).
How we work
Every engagement starts with a one-page scope, signed by both sides. We agree what we will do, what we won't, and what the fee is. Then we begin.
You are not passed to a junior. The partner you meet is the partner who works on your file, every month, for as long as you're with us.
We track your IRAS, ACRA and CPF deadlines on our own calendar. You will hear from us ninety days before each due date, with what we need.
If your bookkeeping is messy, we'll say so. If you're heading toward a tax exposure, we'll flag it the month it appears. We don't wait until April.
