Mission
The society was started in 2008 by three neighbourhood residents who noticed how many elderly neighbours were eating one meal a day. Seventeen years later we serve four hundred seniors and run on four staff plus one hundred and twenty active volunteers.
We are an IPC-registered charity. Our audited accounts are published every March. Every dollar received is accounted for; no administrative cost taken from a sponsored beneficiary.
We accept donations of time, groceries, and money. We do not solicit on the street. Our growth is through neighbours telling neighbours.
We work with low-income elderly residents in Bedok and Tampines. Most are in one-room and two-room rental flats. Most are widows, widowers, or never-married. Many have grown children who live overseas or have limited contact.
Our work isn't complicated. We bring groceries. We accompany them to the polyclinic. We sit and have tea. The goal is dignity, not dependency.
